The first semeseter starts with the definition of hardwarestructure of desktop pc's and periphal devices, which will be used within the context of product development. Subsequently components and characteristics of CAD- and CAP-software will be decribed. In so doing the computer internal representation and geometry processing in 2D and 3D form the focus.
In the following lectures information systems, kinds of applications and databases as well as potientialities of productmodels are going to be described
In the next lecture part we will in the broadest sence go into interfaces. Herunder ther is not only hardware and software systems concieved but also Human-Machine-Communication. There is also, lectures about graphical data handling as well as automatic drawing conversion, counted into this part.
A prospect finishes each semester including a short repetition and some deeper going Highlights of the lecture. At the same time there will be tutorials offered in which a program systems will be presented to deeper the knowledge of the lecture. Students will use these systems to solve basic example problems.
Objectives
Students shall learn methods of informatics for the solution of engineering problems in
industrial design and manufacturing. Application-specific IT solutions are prepared especially in the field of design, planning, production control, manufacturing, mounting and quality assurance.
