EA.2.0 Electric Drive



EA 2.0 - (Electrical Drive Technology) is a research project within the framework of the Werner von Siemens Center for Industry and Science (WvSC). Within the project, universities and R&D partners from industry are developing innovations in the technology areas of new materials, additive manufacturing and digitization with regard to electric drives. In the Institute for Industrial Information Technology we are working on the work package Digitization (DI). Among other things, data structures of different companies are brought together to collect information about the product during production, runtime and maintenance. Algorithms will then be used to automate the processes and manage them in a digital twin.

The goal of the subproject EA.DI. 4 is to investigate the entire production process, starting from the production order. The production process includes the areas of production configuration, layout planning, production simulation, system control and assembly validation. These areas are to be investigated in a coherent way and completely mapped by tools of the digital factory. The result of the DI.4 subproject will be a continuous process for digitizing and simulating the production process, up to the complete safeguarding of the production flow, using an application example.

In EA.DI 10, technological innovations in data preparation for Virtual Reality (VR) and Augmented Reality (AR) will be developed. At the end of the sub-working point two demonstrators will be created. One demonstrator should enable the temporally and spatially decoupled virtual commissioning and acceptance, while another demonstrator should be responsible for the system configuration. Among other things, annotation from Extended Reality (XR) shall be transferable to CAD.
